Zhongming Zhao
Dr. Zhongming Zhao received his PhD in Human and Molecular Genetics from MD Anderson UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Informatics. Since 2003, he has been a faculty member, first as assistant professor in Virginial Commonwealth University, then associate, full professor and Ingram Endowed Professor of Cancer Research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and now Chair Professor of Precision Health at UTHealth. Dr. Zhao has broad interests in bioinformatics, genomics, population genetics, and precision medicine with his focus on the roles of genetic variants in the complex disease. He has co-authored over 500 total publications in these areas (cited by >23,000 times, H-index = 78). Zhao is the founding president of The International Association for Intelligent Biology and Medicine (IAIBM, 2018). He is an elected fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI), the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA), and American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
